Fall Rivers Alive Clean-ups
Plan to join us for our Fall Rivers Alive Clean-ups on Little River, Etowah River, and Ball Ground Creek in October 2026
Millions of tons of trash are left along our nation’s rivers and streams every year. Roadside litter also makes it’s way into our waterways through storm drain systems. All this trash takes away from the beauty and safety of our waterways. That’s why CCWSA’s Annual River Clean-Ups are so important. Join us in giving back to the community by helping clean up in and around our rivers in Cherokee County. Fall is a great time to get outdoors and enjoy the beauty and wildlife as well as make a difference. Plan to join us and bring your family and friends and see how pristine we can make our rivers. We sure could use the help!
We are sponsoring three Rivers Alive cleanups in October. We encourage you to attend one or all three!
Ball Ground Cleanup
When: October 10th, 2026, 10am – 1pm
Where: Ball Ground City Hall
215 Valley St. Ball Ground, GA 30107
Why: Strap on your boots, grab your gloves, and help us make Ball Ground Creek cleaner than we found it. Participants will receive a free t-shirt and lunch along with the satisfaction of helping your community. Plan to arrive a little early to make a few new friends before we team up and tackle pollution together!
Volunteers of all ages are welcome. However, adult supervision is required.

Little River Cleanup
When: October 17th, 2026, 9am – 1pm
Where: Olde Rope Mill Park
690 Olde Rope Mill Park Rd. Woodstock
Details: Wear old clothes and shoes, bring heavy gloves and a heavy-duty trash picker (if you have one). Gloves, trash bags, and trash pickers will be available. Bring a water bottle and/or coffee mug for water and coffee to help reduce single use waste. Coffee, hot chocolate, breakfast, water and lunch will be provided to all volunteers. Rivers Alive t-shirts will be available while supplies last.

Etowah River Cleanup
When: October 24th, 2026, 9am – 1pm
Where: Upper Etowah River Alliance Office
